Past event
Aspettando la Pitina is the series of events leading up to the Festa della Pitina 2026, at Tramonti di Sopra on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. This year’s theme is smoking: smoke as a way of preserving food.
On Saturday 17 October we are at Casa Mantova, a farm and guesthouse at Barcis, in the Val Cellina. Barbara and Loris take us through the making of Pitina PGI (IGP) and show the different ways of smoking it, the old ones and the ones used today. We are their guests in the workshop, and we taste the pitina and the farm’s other smoked products.
